My trip to see DAN TDM!

October 31, 2016

We are definitely living in the age of technology. I don’t think you can avoid it these days.

You can sing and dance about how little time you allow your little ones to watch television or use the ipad but in the end they will get to these machines that are now an unavoidable part of our lives.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against it in any way. We have to stick to the times and avoiding technology doesn’t seem to be an option anymore.

The Show-

So first of all let me give you a brief overview of who DanTDM is –

  • Daniel Middleton (born 8 November 1991) – yes he is only 24years old- is a British YouTube personality and professional gamer who goes by the name The Diamond Minecart or DanTDM.
  • His online video channel mainly focuses on the popular game Minecraft.
  • As of October 2016, he has over 12.6 million subscribers, and is listed among the top YouTube channels in the United Kingdom.
  • In 2014, Business Insider estimated Middleton’s annual income to be somewhere between $213,000 and $2.15 million.
  • In July 2015, his channel was listed as one of the most popular YouTubers in the world by viewership.

The DanTdm tour is made up of several dates at locations around the UK. The show is 45minutes followed by a 20minute interval then another 45minutes.

The tour has completely sold out!

Verdict –

All I can say is I am in utter awe of Daniel and how far he has come. This young man with blue hair and an earring is a self made success story.

A self professed ‘geek’ who was extremely shy at school and sat at the back of the class, to a Youtuber with a multimillion following. I believe he needs to be applauded.

I cannot even explain the excitement in my boys faces when Dan walked on stage. The excitement in the faces of all the other children in the audience filled with 2,000 people.

He is quite lovable – funny, very down to earth and just normal. Exactly what everybody needs these days.

So what actually happened in the show?

It starts with Dan telling us all about himself, which I think the parents found interesting, then it is almost as if we are playing a computer game with Dan, kids from the audience get up on stage to help him win games, while he even plays us all the guitar at one stage. I won’t give too much more away for those of you who are due to see the show.

The age ranges were anything between 4-16. Although the show isn’t recommended for those under 5, my quite brave 6year old was a little scared in some parts, as Dan’s scary ulter ego with bright red hair tries to lock him inside his iphone!

Ok you see now I’ve entered the world of DanTdm!

All in all I like Dan.

He is a huge success story and I personally don’t think he is doing any harm. He is a family man, married with two very cute pugs and reviews computer games.

I totally agree we must all limit how much screen time our kids have and that they must read more. But these are the times we live in and Dan has even brought out a book so our kids can read more.
