Oven baked Sweet potato crisps ❤️

June 17, 2016

I absolutely adore sweet potatoes! I don’t know whether its the gorgeous pinky orangy colour or the scrumptious taste which is so soothing and delicious one bite is never enough.

I was looking for an easy, healthy alternative to french fries for my kids. I came across a recipe for Sweet Potato Crisps online and just had to try and tweek it for myself.

My boys loved these as an accompaniment to Roast Chicken recently, although I’m not a huge fan of tomato sauce and mayonnaise, I must say these crisps go perfectly with these yummy sauces.

So here is a super easy recipe for Oven Baked Sweet Potato Chips your kids and you will love.

Ingredients – (enough for 4)

  • 4 large Sweet Potatoes
  • 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Sea salt & Ground black pepper to taste
  • Sprinkle of paprika
  • Sprinkle of garlic salt

Method –

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees celsius.
  • Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  • Carefully peel the sweet potatoes.
  • Slice into even circles half a centimetre in width.
  • Place all the potato chips in a bowl, drizzle over the Extra Virgin Olive oil.
  • Sprinkle on some salt, ground black pepper, garlic salt and paprika.
  • Using your fingers toss the potatoes in the yummy dressing until all the chips are coated.
  • Place the sweet potato chips in a single layer on the baking tray.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes until slightly browned.
  • Then using a spatula flip the chips over.
  • Bake for a further 10-15minutes.

Serve straight away with a dip of greek yogurt or just as they are!

Just scrumptious! ❤️
