Captain Pug – The dog who sailed the seas πŸ“š by Laura James πŸ’™ a book review

May 23, 2016

What is it about little puppies that we all love? Especially Pugs with their super cute wrinkly faces and curly tails. My boys just cannot love them enough.

So when I was asked to review this latest book featuring no other than the cutest Pug as the main character I couldn’t resist!

The Book –

Meet the brilliant, the wonderful, the courageous … Captain Pug! The first book in a glorious new illustrated series for fans of Claude and Squishy McFluff.

First of three books in a series about Captain Pug – a fantastic and courageous pug who is going on an adventure at sea. He’s had jam tarts for breakfast and is definitely dressed for the occasion but the only problem is that he’s afraid of the water. A Pug sailor who doesn’t like water, now that will be interesting.

This colourful, delightful book is aimed for those aged 5-7.

My younger son is 5, the older one is 8, but both boys enjoyed this book immensely.

The colourful illustrations by French illustrator Γ‰glantine Ceulemans are just delightful making the book look classical yet fun and colourful.

My boys laughed out loud at Captain Pugs adventure. My 8 year old loved it just as much as my 5 year old!

What is so lovely that the story is based on the author Laura’s own dog Brian who was also very silly and with her father a retired naval officer.

My boys and I are eagerly anticipating the next book…

Published by Bloomsbury Publishing. Capatain Pug is available in all major bookshops and on Amazon uk now. Find out more below –
