The September Issue – a glimpse at the world of American Vogue ðŸŽ¬

March 14, 2016

The September Issue is not a new documentary, it’s been on my list to watch for ages, last night I watched it.

The world of fashion has always interested and mystified me, for me it is a magical world of beautiful people, clothes and accessories.

With a new documentary film coming up about the fashion world starring the renowned fashion editor of US Vogue Anna Wintour called ‘First Monday in May’ – about the infamous Met Ball held in New York. I thought it best to introduce you all to Anna Wintour through The September Issue first.

The Movie –

The September Issue is a 2009 American documentary film about the behind-the-scenes drama that follows editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and her staff during the production of the September 2007 issue of American Vogue magazine.

It is a wonderful glimse into how much work goes into producing one magazine. But this is not just any magazine, it is an issue of US Vogue which on this occasion was over 800pages filled with glorious pages of high end advertising and editorial.

Verdict –

A must see movie for any fashionista! Anna Wintour is in my opinion the matriarch of fashion today!

But behind Vogue there are two other main characters who are Andre Leon Tally, the larger than life Editor at Large, and a former British model with amazing red hair named Grace Coddington, who has been on the staff as long as Wintour and is down to earth.

Grace Coddington’s gift is putting together many of Vogue’s fantastic photo spreads.

I cannot wait to see ‘First Monday in May,’ in the meantime here is the trailer for The September Issue –
