Parisian Chic: A Style Guide by Ines de la Fressange ❤️ a book review ðŸ“š

February 8, 2016

One of my favourite pastimes is reading fashion magazines. I love to keep up to date with the latest trends and styles.

I also love to collect and read books about fashion and style, be it books about the history of fashion or tips about being stylish from those in the world of fashion.

I have a trip to Paris coming up soon so I thought it best to catch up with the trends in fashion in the city of lights. What better person to learn from than a Parisian model and fashionista.

The Book –

Celebrity model Ines de La Fressange shares the well-kept secrets of how Parisian women maintain effortless glamour and timeless allure. France’s icon of chic shares her personal tips for living with style and charm, gleaned from decades in the fashion industry. She offers specific pointers on how to dress like a Parisian, including how to mix affordable basics with high-fashion touches, and how to accessorize. Her step-by-step dos and don’ts are accompanied by fashion photography, and this book is personalized with her charming drawings. Ines also shares how to bring Parisian chic into your home, and how to insert your signature style into any space even the office.

The ultra chic red volume is flexi-bound with a wrapper band and features off set aquarelle paper. Complete with her favorite addresses for finding the ultimate fashion and decorating items, this is a musthave for any woman who wants to add a touch of Paris to her own style.

Verdict-

An absolutely unmissable book to treasure! I loved how simple the book was to navigate through. Shoes, bags, make up, skincare, etc; all in their own specific sections, with subsections.

I loved the super fun and cute illustrations and there were lots amd lots of pictures. A good book for fashionistas and for those who want to learn more about style.

I especially enjoyed the section at the end with tips on shops, restaurants and places to visit in Paris. I hope to visit at few on my next trip.

I completely agree with the make up and skincare tips. ‘Less is more’ is a tip I have always believed everyone should follow, and the best way to great skin is to always remove make up before bedtime, no matter what. She also recommends brands and products which I also use.

A book I think everyone can learn something from. Available online and in all major bookshops.
