Breathe easy with salty sea water filled with minerals 💙 🌊

February 7, 2016

If you were to ask any mother what they dread most in the winter months, it would be the dreaded flu.

Blocked noses, fevers and unwell kids have got to be one of the worst things ever. For me it has always been the blocked noses which Ive found the most difficult to deal with in young children. Especially if you have a baby who is breastfeeding or using the dummy to sleep it is excruciating as the baby cannot understand why they cannot breathe through their noses as they normally do. They cannot blow their noses so we as parents need to help them.

I have always been against giving my children medication of any kind unless it is extremely necessary. So antibiotics and other forms of medicine are always the last resort for me when trying to beat the flu.

There are great ways to prevent and fight flu symptoms naturally. Taking vitamins, eating plenty of foods rich in vitamin C for example.

For the blocked noses however I believe the most effective and natural method is using salt water sprays. When the salt water is from the ocean that is even better! I have always found that after a dip in the sea I feel and definitely breathe better as the fresh salty sea water unblocks any mucus in the sinuses naturally.

When not near an ocean the next best solution are salt water sprays and the most effective and naturally derived sprays are made by Stérimar.

These nasal sprays are just amazing. They are a godsend for any parent dealing with blocked noses. What is so great about them is that because they are 100% natural there are absolutly no side effects. You can use the spray as frequently as necessary. For my kids the spray has meant a good nights sleep when they have had colds with blocked noses.

The one and only difficulty with they sprays is actually applying the spray. It is much easier when the kids are babies, but when you have a very fidgety toddler or 5 year old to deal with things do get more complicated.

The easiest way I have found to do it is by just explaining to your child that this is going to help them breathe, then make it into a little game. Get them to press the nozzle. Even a little bit of the spray will work wonders. It’s not painful or stinging, the feeling is exactly like when you go underwater in a pool or the sea and some water goes up your nose.

New Stop & Protect Range –

These two new sprays promise to Stop & Protect against Allergy Relief and Cold & Sinus Relief.

The Allergy Relief works by providing long-lasting hydration and forming a protective and invisible film, preventing allergens from coming into contact with the nasal cavity to provide reinforced effective protection against further allergens attacks. The Cold & Sinus Relief forms a protective and invisible film on the nasal mucosa.

Hope you all have a good nights sleep blocked noses or not!
