Let’s keep believing in magic, fairies, elves & Santa β€οΈπŸŽ…πŸ»πŸŒŸ

December 6, 2015

The world is turning into a slightly scary place lately. It is so terribly sad that this beautiful world we all share is becoming like this.

It is so difficult to try to shield our little ones from all that is happening in the world around us, they see the news, no matter how much we try not to discuss these things around them, they still hear.

My belief in human kindness however, has been restored. I now believe even more in the importance of allowing and encouraging our little ones to believe in magic, in fairies, in elves and in Santa.

Everyday my boys and I walk to school. We are lucky enough to be able to walk to our local school in around ten minutes. The route from our home takes us through a little park with a little river running through it. In the autumn the huge trees which line the path through the park are all shades of brown, orange and red. In the spring the fresh green leaves slowly show all over the bare branches as daffodils line the path. To me it has always be an almost magical little haven.

Yesterday as we were walking through we noticed something even more magical than just leaves and flowers. The park had been transformed into a ‘Fairy Village’ – the trunks of the large oak trees had been made into ‘Fairy’ homes, each with it’s own entrance adorned with toad stools, twigs as the steps leading up to the beautiful door, even a little sign on the door. So wonderfully magical.

You can just imagine the wonderment on the boys faces as they leaned in to take a closer look, the way they knocked on the tiny little doors half expecting a fairy to open the door and welcome them in.

I don’t know who or what is behind this wonderous organisation, but all I can say is ‘thank you’! Thank you for igniting the imagination of children, for allowing them to believe in magic and fairies and a happy beautiful world.
