The Misadventures of a Playground Mother by Christie Barlow ๐Ÿ“š a book reviewย

September 7, 2015

The summer holidays are over for most of us here in the UK with kids back at school, or going back very soon. It has been a lovely summer but to be totally honest I’m so glad we are back to the old routine. School runs and waiting around the school gates becoming normality again.

This year both my boys are in big school so I have two school gates and two groups of lovely friends. So much to look forward to! I love all the different personalities, the chit chat and drama from time to time at the school gates.

So you can just imagine my excitement when I found out one of my favourite books   by one of the loveliest authors around, was bringing out a sequel! A story about the dramas and friendships made and found at the school gates.

One of the perks of my amazing job is being lucky enough to read books before they are available for purchase, so here is my review of ‘The Misadventures of a Playground Mother’ by Christie Barlow, the much awaited sequel to ‘A Year in the Life of a Playground Mother.’

In the sequel we are back with Rachel Young, now having lived in the country for a year she is getting the hang of things. Her four kids are at school and she is no longer the newbie. Fellow playground mother moves in with Rachel after finding out her husband is cheating, so the house is very busy and Rachel just can’t bring herself to ask Penelope to leave. Then newbie to the playground Melanie arrives, now there will be much more for the playground mafia to talk about as Melanie is definitely not all she seems to be.

Another winner by Christie Barlow! A book where you relate to the characters, relate the story to your own life and a story you just don’t want to end. A book that makes you laugh! Im hoping for another!

The Misadventures of a Playground Mother is out to purchase on Amazon on September 11th 2015. Pre-order now.
