Help save the world we live in ğŸŒŽ Ohyo is the way to go!

July 4, 2015

We all need to drink water, we are constantly told about the benefits of drinking water. I totally agree with them all. But we also need to spare a thought for our beautiful planet.

Did you know that in the UK we consume 18 billion plastic bottles each year? Since only a quarter of these are recycled this means 38 million plastic bottles end up in landfill every single day! These bottles can take around 450years to decompose! This is scary. This is very bad news for our future of the planet and of our little ones.

So what can we do to help? We recycle, isn’t that enough? Well by not buying plastic water bottles when out and about you can help considerably. I am worse than anyone when out and about. Im always in a rush, my bag is packed full already, so there is never enough room for water.

Ohyo have found a super fun and yet very simple solution – reusable, collapsible water bottles!

Created by Guy Jeremiah – an environmental scientist from Sheffield, UK. Guy came up with the idea of a collapsible water bottle in 2008 after witnessing first-hand the environmental damage caused by bottled water.

Ohyo is now sold all over the world – from the Americas to Abu Dhabi. Bottled water sales are (at last) declining.

So how does it work? You simply put the tiny collapsed bottle in your bag. When out and about open it up, find a tap, fill with tap water, and voila! Or if bottled water is more to your taste, fill your Ohyo up before leaving home, once finished, collapse, put in your bag to reuse. It couldn’t be simpler.

They have various sizes, amazing colours and a super handy sports spout! What more could you need!

These are definitely coming on holiday with us this summer! So great for use whilst flying. No more throwing away full bottles of water at security. Simply pour, collapse and pack away! Yay!
