Homemade Iced Citrusy Green Tea with honey ðŸŒž

July 1, 2015

London is absolutely sweltering at the moment! It is not the best city to be in when the weather is so hot because most things are suited to colder climates. Our homes are very well insulated so not great when the strong sun is shining down on them. Public transportation is much the same, air conditioned trains are limited so breathing can become difficult.

So when I am home, sitting in the shade of our heavenly garden, I like nothing more than a cold refreshing drink. My latest thing has been homemade iced green tea!

Those of you who follow me on Twitter & Instagram will know that I am drinking this tea by the gallon! It isn’t just tasty, it quenches your thirst like no other beverage can. In addition to enjoyment, it is also providing your body with the super benefits only green tea can.

My father is an avid green tea drinker and he is very fit! I must admit I’m not a huge fan of drinking green tea hot, and always end up choosing coffee, but with this cold, citrusy, slightly sweet version, I cannot get enough.

I just read online some of the benefits of green tea, just amazing.

1. Combats allergies

2. Boosts eyesight

3. Lowers Cholesterol

4. Promotes healthy gums & teeth

5. Wards off oral cancer

6. Protects skin from damaging UV rays

What more could anyone want!

So here is the super easy recipe, so good even my boys are drinking it-

Homemade Iced Green Tea-

Ingredients– (makes enough for six)

– 3-4 Green tea teabags (Use whatever type you prefer)

– Acacia Honey – 4 tablespoons

– 2 lemons (cut into thick slices)

– Boiling hot water

Method

– In a large teapot place the teabags and fill the hot water to the top. Leave to seep for 20minutes stirring occasionally.

– Once the tea is ready pour carefully into a tall glass serving jug.

-Add in the honey and stir until the honey is dissolved into the liquid.

– Add in the lemon slices, and you can also squeeze in some lemon juice.

– Leave to cool and for the lemon to infuse into the tea.

– Once cool pour into glasses filled with ice and an extra lemon slice to garnish!

Soooo yummy! I’m off to fill my glass again!

Enjoy! xxxxxxxxx
