Oat Biscuits πŸ’› Healthiest way to snack on the go!

June 9, 2015

I absolutely adore oats! In my opinion they are the ultimate super food. Not only are they super versatile, they are so filling.

Whenever I have oats for breakfast or I incorporate oats into my daily diet I feel fuller, I snack less and in turn I lose weight.

I think Nairn’s produce the yummiest oat cakes and oat crackers around. Not only are these cookies amazingly healthy, Nairn’s have created nifty little snack packs so you can keep them in your bag for healthy snacks when on the go.

Nairn’s are definitely experts at what they do! They have been baking oatcakes since 1896, using wholegrain oats grown in the Scottish Borders (with the exception of Gluten Free), where the climate is perfect for slowly ripening the grains. Today, they have a versatile range of oatcakes, oat biscuits, oaty bakes and gluten free products which do not contain any artificial colourings, flavours or preservatives.

There has been a great deal of research into the positive health benefits of oats. Oats are high in fibre and contain complex carbohydrates which give you a natural and wholesome boost to help you get the most out of your day.
Here is a rundown of Nairn’s scrumptious and super healthy range-

Nairn’s Oatcakes –

– Organic Herb & Pumpkin Seed

– Cheese

– Cracked Black Pepper

Nairn’s Oat Biscuits-

– Chocolate

– Stem Ginger

– Fruit & Spice

– Mixed Berries

Then there is the ‘gluten free’ range which is just as yummy in all the same delicious flavours.

My boys absolutely adore the Nairn’s Chocolate Oat Biscuits! Not only are they totally yummy, they contain dark chocolate chips and come in handy pouch packs which you can add to lunch boxes for a healthy filling school time treat. They contain no artificial colours or flavours, are full of the goodness of wholegrain oats and contain 40% less sugar than the average sweet biscuit. Now that has got to be good!

My personal favourite are the Cheese Oatcakes! Just so crunchy and cheesy, and such a great accompaniment to a frothy cappuccino! I love to top these yummy delights with lots of toppings, my favourite is Olive paste & cucumber slices! Yum!

I will have another post coming up soon with lots of great recipes using Nairn’s oatcakes! So watch this space lovelies! xxx
