Baked Seabass with Tabbouleh – a superb & simple meal your guests will love ❤️

April 13, 2015

This is one of my all time favourite meals. Its so simple to prepare for family and friends, and guests I want to impress. The reason I love this combination so much is that it really works, the sweet, clean taste of the baked Seabass is nicely complimented by the citrusy, olive oiled flavours of the Tabbouleh.

Seabass is a nice alternative to Salmon. Whether you cook the sea or freshwater variety, it is an excellent source of protein, selenium and essential omega-3 fatty acids. It does however contain mercury so not so great for kids and pregnant women in large quantities. But my boys love to have a small piece.

It is also a meal which is super easy to put together. Instead of slaving over the stove when your guests are there, you can plan, prepare everything in advance, place the fish in the oven, and voilà your dinner is served!

Prepare the Tabbouleh the night before, it is best eaten cold. The recipe is on an earlier post on my blog. I added chopped cucumber this time, gives it a nice crisp crunch.

Follow these easy steps for cooking the Seabass. Believe me it will work. You will have a moist, succulent, delicious fish every time!

Ingredients- (makes enough for 4)

– 4 boneless Seabass fillets

– Juice of 1 lemon

– 1 tablespoon Olive oil

– Sea salt & ground pepper

– Preheat oven to 200 degrees centigrade

– Place Seabass fillets skin side down on an oiled baking tray.

– Mix the Olive oil and lemon juice together in a small bowl. With a teaspoon drizzle this dressing over the fillets evenly.

– Sprinkle on sea salt & ground pepper generously.

– Cover the baking tray with silver foil. This allows the fish to be steamed in its own juices making the white meat sweet and succulent.

– Bake for 20minutes in the middle of the oven.

– After this time remove from the oven. Allow to rest for a few minutes then gently remove foil.

– With a spatula carefully lift the fillets on to the plate for service. Ensure you spoon some of the gorgeous juices from the baking tray over the fish.

Just perfect! Enjoy! xxxx
